Alternate Method

The alternate method was added for a couple of reasons:

It has some additional image control options like rotate, flip, adjust brightness/contrast/hue.
As a secondary option if you are having any trouble with the basic image upload/cropping tools.*

Safari users with certain versions were experiencing some errors with the basic tools. 99% of the time it works fine, but some incompatibility is causing some users to experience an error. This alternate method is a completely different tool. So if you are a Safari user and experiencing a problem cropping an image, try this tool.

Choices Explanation

You have three options for getting your thumbnail image:

From a web page:

This is the most common choice. Linky Tools will pull images from the link you have entered at the top of this page (if you want to get the images from a different link, you'll be able to edit your link on the next page without changing the link your thumbnail will be tied to).

From A File:

Choose a file from your local computer.

Generic Thumbnail

You won't choose an image. A generic Linky Tools icon will be used. This is useful if you don't have an image ready, or if you are having trouble with the other two choices for some reason.

Having Trouble?

The huge variety of file names, symbols, security settings, etc can occassionally cause an error when getting a photo "FROM WEB".

We are constantly working to try and adjust, but the combinations and variations of file names and web addresses are ENDLESS.

If "FROM WEB" is not working, try saving your image to your local computer, and use "FROM FILE".

If neither of thos work, you can still use GENERIC ICON to put your link on the list.
